Powder coating: Environmentally friendly and effective

In powder coating, we apply a fine powder to your workpieces as corrosion protection. This consists of resins, pigments and additives. This method allows us to create coatings that are both durable and aesthetically pleasing.

About the application: With this environmentally friendly method, the components are first prepared mechanically using processes such as blasting, sweeping or fine plastering. The coating is then applied using electrostatic charging with a powder based on polyester or epoxy resin. The powder is baked at a temperature of around 180 °C to ensure a durable and resistant coating.

Your questions – Our answers

Why is powder coating more environmentally friendly than traditional painting processes?

Powder coating is more environmentally friendly than traditional painting processes because it is solvent-free and therefore does not release harmful solvent emissions into the atmosphere. This significantly reduces the environmental impact and makes it a sustainable choice for surface coatings.

How robust is the powder coating against external influences?

Powder coatings are robust and resistant to mechanical influences, chemicals and weathering. These properties make them ideal for applications where durability and resistance to environmental influences are required.

How versatile is powder coating in terms of colors and textures?

Powder coating offers a wide range of colors and textures. From glossy to matt finishes and a variety of shades, almost any design requirement can be met. This makes powder coating a versatile solution for a wide range of design needs.

What is the production process for powder coating?

1. The workpieces are prepared for the subsequent coating by sweep blasting and mechanical fine fettling.
2. The powder coating is applied to the prepared surface using electrostatic spraying equipment
3. The coated workpieces are heated in an oven to melt and cross-link the powder coating.
4. After heating, the workpieces are cooled, allowing the coating to harden.
5. Each workpiece is finally tested to ensure that the coating meets the high quality standards.
